Fog Cutter

The Fog Cutter in an Orchids of Hawaii Lono mug.

I didn't have this picture in time for Mixology Monday.

The Fog Cutter

1.5 oz light rum
0.5 oz brandy
0.5 oz gin
1.5 oz orange juice
0.5 oz lemon juice
0.5 oz orgeat
0.5 oz sherry

Shake everything except the sherry over ice and strain into a tiki mug filled with crushed ice.
Float the sherry on top.

I've been thinking about picking up a bottle of sherry to make the Fog Cutter for some time now. Any brand recommendations?

How was it, anyway?

The Fog Cutter is really good. You should give it a try. I used Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry. It was what I had. I'd like to try it with more of a dry style sherry too.

Nice. I use the recipe from Beachbum Berry's Grog Log and serve it in this old Trader Vic's Fogcutter mug I picked up last year for 4 bucks.

The bum's recipe is similar to yours, it just calls for slightly different quantities.

Yay! I adore tiki cocktails, especially when there's campy glasware involved. I'm inspired!
